Bash Elkheir is a leading Sydney criminal defence solicitor with more than seven years of experience in serious and complex criminal matters. He is also one of the co-founders of our firm.
Bash holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney – a postgraduate qualification gained by very few criminal defence solicitors practising in NSW – as well as a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Before focusing on criminal defence, Bash worked as a solicitor at Deloitte, where he focused on advising multinational companies on tax strategy and advice. This gave him an understanding of how serious cases are managed and strategised. He is known for his thorough preparation and ability to negotiate effectively with the prosecution, as well as for the persuasiveness of his advocacy in the most serious matters that the criminal justice system handles.
Bash appears in the Local, District and Supreme Courts of NSW, as well as the Federal Court of Australia, across the full spectrum of serious criminal matters. This includes representing clients on charges involving organised crime, murder and manslaughter, large scale drug supply and importation, firearms offences, large-scale fraud and NSW and Commonwealth Crime Commission examinations. He also has extensive experience representing clients charged with violence and serious assault offences, such as wounding with intent and grievous bodily harm (GBH).
Outside of the law, Bash is a keen deep sea fisherman and a committed trainer. He also cooks a steak with more conviction than most lawyers bring to a closing address.
