Elkheir Partners was founded by brothers Kazem and Bashaar Elkheir, two lawyers who specialised in very different areas of the law. Together, they wanted to build something they noticed missing from the local legal market: high level strategic advice delivered by experienced lawyers – quickly, personally and without compromise.
That means when you engage Elkheir Partners, you’ll always deal directly with a partner. You’ll receive advice that’s honest rather than reassuring. And you’ll work with lawyers who are genuinely invested in your outcome and not just your file.
The firm operates from Sydney for clients from around Australia and appears in courts and tribunals across NSW and beyond, including the Federal Court, NSW Supreme Court, District Court, Administrate Review Tribunal, NCAT and the Fair Work Commission.
We tell you what you need to hear, even if it’s not what you want to hear. That directness leads to better decisions and drives better outcomes.
Every client gets real attention from the lawyer who knows their matter best, not updates filtered through someone junior.
We always start with the outcome and work back from there. What really matters is what your business, your finances and your life look like once the legal question is resolved.
While Elkheir Partners may still be a young firm, our story has taken years to write. Both Kazem and Bashaar Elkheir spent the first part of their careers acquiring top-level legal experience in leading commercial practices before joining forces to build the firm.
Kazem had spent years running complex commercial and litigation matters, including Federal Court proceedings, regulatory investigations, Supreme Court disputes and eight-figure settlements. Meanwhile, Bashaar previously advised multinational clients on complex commercial transactions and taxation laws.
More recently, they were joined by Bashir Elkheir, a former prosecutor, who had built his career inside the NSW prosecution system, developing the kind of forensic understanding of criminal procedure that most defence lawyers never acquire.
While they worked for different firms and in different areas of the law, all brothers noticed the same thing: that the clients who needed sophisticated legal advice most – like business owners under pressure, individuals facing serious charges and people navigating high-stakes disputes – were often the least well served by existing law firms. There was too much process, too little partner. And advice that arrived too slowly for people who needed straight answers fast.
Elkheir Partners is built around a different model. It’s small enough that every client deals directly with a partner, but experienced enough that the advice they receive reflects genuine expertise, not supervised work product. And it’s structured so that the two complementary halves of their practice – Kazem’s commercial and litigation depth, Bashaar’s criminal defence instincts – sit under one roof, available to every client who needs them.
